Strategies to Plan for T12 Phase-Out

With the recent U.S. Department of Energy-mandated phase out of T12 magnetic ballasts and next year's end to production of T12 lamps, now is the time to begin planning for your facility's transition to higher-efficiency T8 and T5 lamps.
This article from FacilitiesNet explains how to maximize the cost-effectiveness of a retrofit and realize energy savings by taking advantage of upgrade incentive programs.

When T12s burn out or are replaced in a lighting retrofit they should be recycled to ensure that their mercury content does not contaminate your facility or the environment. The
Bulb Eater® lamp crushing system from
Air Cycle makes it easy, reducing labor by up to 20 hours per 1,000 lamps and minimizing storage space by up to 80%.
