Happy Earth Day from Air Cycle!

Happy Earth Day from all of us at Air Cycle! At
Air Cycle, we work to build awareness of why mercury-containing wastes are dangerous, the harm of improperly disposing of them, and the ways that they can be safely and efficiently recycled.
We offer
EasyPak™ prepaid mail-in containers for recycling spent fluorescent lamps, ballasts, batteries, and electronic waste at facilities of less than 150,000 square feet. Our
Bulb Eater® lamp crusher safely compacts and stores spent lamps prior to recycling for facilities of more than 150,000 square feet, reducing overall recycling costs by up to 50%.
We hope that you'll take a moment to learn how
recycling with our products and services is cost-effective, and can help keep your facility and the environment free of the hazards of mercury.
A Snapshot of Small Facility Recycling

In February, Today's Facility Manager published an article explaining why fluorescent lamp recycling still matters, even in a tough economy when facility management budgets are tight.
The article discussed how recycling lamps can mitigate the financial, environmental, and public relations risks of throwing them out, as well as generate additional benefits like green marketing opportunities and a safer workplace.
Last month, the magazine ran a
follow-up article about the types of recycling methods available to facility managers who operate facilities of less than 150,000 square feet, and the logistics of what recycling lamps often looks like for small facilities.

Bulb Eater® Saves Thousands for Los Alamos Lab

Los Alamos National Laboratory, known for its Nobel Prize-winning scientists, work on the Manhattan Project and nanotechnology research, is increasing the use of another technology: the Bulb Eater.
The move could save the lab tens of thousands of dollars in waste disposal fees and prevent the mercury in spent fluorescent lamps from contaminating the environment, according to
this article from the Los Alamos Monitor.

The
Bulb Eater® lamp crusher from
Air Cycle is the most efficient way to safely recycle spent fluorescent lamps. Using the Bulb Eater, many facilities cut lamp recycling costs by 50%.

In a tough economy, many facility managers wonder if fluorescent lamp recycling is worth the cost.
But
this article from Today's Facility Manager explains how throwing away lamps carries heavy financial, environmental and public relations risks that often outweigh the comparatively small fee for recycling over the long run.
